NOTES:
In the downloadable version released within the time limits of the jam, the game can sometimes freeze when switching scenes. This is rare and you can just restart your game. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The web version was made after the submission deadline and does contain some bugfixes and improvements the original submission didn't have:
- Fixed font rendering
- Game speed toggles
- Pause button (spacebar hotkey still works)
- Less obstructive combat window
- Enemy attacks have visual cues
- Bug where lava lamps could not be placed next to path spawn tiles fixed
- No longer crash when switching scenes

I really liked this one. I put a few hours into it, right up until I inevitably clicked Quit Game intstead of pause (hint, those are way too close together lol).
You could get a lot of depth out of this idea, even divorced from Neuro. I think you should come back and build on this some time. Some content, some features, some scenery, and I think you've got a really solid game.
The biggest hurdle would be balancing. At the point where I accidentally quit, I was at the point where Neuro could literally not take damage anymore. But once you have a long-term vision and goal for the game, balancing around that should be easier. As long as you have some form of long-term engagement, I think you have a winner on your hands.
your pixel art is so cute <3
